This website is dedicated to the Cambodian lute Chapei Dang Veng and its practice, both inscribed by UNESCO in 2016 on the “List of Intangible Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding”.
Little research has been done on this instrument, but a multidisciplinary team is working daily to fill this gap. Each article published on this website is signed by his/her author so that paternity is recognized and, we hope, respected. In order to make the discourse more fluid, we use the term “chapei” rather than “Chapei Dang Veng”, official terminology of UNESCO.
